2026/27 K1 Admission Arrangements Flowchart

Parents apply to EDB for the RC
from September to November 2025

Upon receipt of the applications with all necessary information and documents provided, it generally takes six to eight weeks for EDB to complete processing of the applications and issue the RC/AP to parents(1) by post

KGs process K1 admission applications

for the 2026/27 School Year

KGs inform parents of the application result

before 19 December 2025

If application is successful

Parents register with one KG during the Centralised Registration Dates
(i.e. 8 to 10 January 2026)
by submitting the RC / AP
and paying registration fee(2)

If application is not successful

Parents refer to the K1-K3 vacancy information
released by EDB
after the Centralised Registration Dates
(i.e. from early February 2026) and apply for
admission to other KGs

Note:
1. If parents cannot submit the RC/AP to the KG which their child has been admitted to during the Centralised Registration Dates, the KG concerned may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit application to EDB within the designated period.

2. If a child is admitted after the Centralised Registration Dates, his/her parent is still required to submit the RC/AP for registration. If the parent intends to change school for his/her child after registration with a KG, he/she is required to get back the RC/AP from the KG with which he/she has registered. Upon getting back the RC/AP from a KG, the KG concerned will no longer reserve the place for the child. Normally, the registration fee paid to the KG with which the parent has registered will not be refunded.

In response to community needs, our kindergarten has added full-day nursery (K1), lower (K2) and upper (K3) classes.

The number of places is limited. Families in need will be given priority. Please register as soon as possible. Once the number of places is full, you will be on the waiting list.

1. We will arrange interview for all applicants.

2. Group and/or individual interviews will be arranged.

3. Either the father or the mother should accompany their child for the interview.

4. Interpretation services can be provided upon request. Children can also be accompanied by their relative who know Chinese. Please contact us at 2631 3354 or via email at pck@pooichun.edu.hk if interpretation / translation service is required.

Children applying for admission will be given priority if they meet the following conditions:

The applicant with sibling(s) currently studying in the kindergarten.
Who have graduated sibling(s) in school.
Interview performance
A family which is in need (for whole-day class)

(As the number of school places is limited, please understand that not all applicants fulfilling the priority consideration will be guaranteed a school place.)

Registration Arrangements

1. Successful applicants: They should complete the registration procedures for their child from 8 to 10 January 2026 (“Centralised Registration Dates”) by submitting the" Registration Certificate for Kindergarten Admission" (hereafter referred to as “RC”) /“Kindergarten Admission Pass” (hereafter referred to as “AP”to the KG and paying the registration fee.

2. Applicants on the waiting list: Parents will receive notifications by post. They should complete the registration procedures for their child according to the specified date set by the KG. Parents are required to submit the “RC”/“AP” to the KG and pay the registration fee.

3. The registration fee for 2026/27 K1 place is $970 (half-day class), $1570 (whole-day class) . If the child concerned studies in the KG, the registration fee paid will be refunded by Auto pay in October.

4. Should parents decide to change school after registration, please notify the KG in writing. The KG will return the “RC” / “AP” as soon as possible but the registration fee will not be refunded. Upon obtaining the “RC” / “AP”, the kindergarten will no longer keep the school place for the child.

5. Applicants refer to the K1 vacancy information released by the EDB after the “centralised registration dates”(i.e. from early February 2026). For enquiries, please contact us at 2631 3354.

If the admitted applicant fails to go to the school to complete the registration procedures, including submitting the "RC"/"AP" within the registration period, it means that he/she automatically gives up the place and the school will notify the waiting student to replace his/her place.
